Chuck Weinstock, former director of Capitol Hill Housing (Seattle) and a former VP with Chase Community Development Banking, spoke on November 1, 2023 at the University of Washington campus in Seattle. His presentation was titled “Affordable Housing: If It Was Simple, We’d Have Solved It By Now. We Still Can.” It was the Professionals Council Autumn Quarter Lecture presented by the Department of Urban Design and Planning.
Affordable housing challenges cities nationwide, affecting housing costs, the unhoused and businesses. In his lecture, Weinstock discussed pathways to solutions and the essential role of planners in helping to increase affordable housing for communities.
