Jill Sterrett

Affiliate Instructor

Jill Sterrett is an affiliate lecturer in the UW Department of Urban Design and Planning. She is a certified urban planner with more than 30 years of experience in consulting for federal, state and local jurisdictions. Prior to UW, she had ten years of experience as the director of the Seattle office of an international urban planning and landscape architecture consulting firm. Sterrett also served as president of the Washington chapter of the American Planning Association and as co-chair of the association’s Climate and Sustainability Initiative. At UW, she has taught a variety of urban planning courses at both the graduate and undergraduate level and currently teaches a graduate course in climate change and infrastructure. She also serves as one of two faculty advisors for students in the MIPM program
