PC Events 2020/2021
Despite the pandemic, the UW Urban Design and Planning Program’s Professionals Council (PC) has continued to support students in the Urban Design and Planning graduate program
during the 2020/2021 school year. The PC currently has 47 active professionals serving 46 first-year and 49 second-year master’s students. All PC programs were adapted to a virtual platform and, as we all adjusted to living in the Zoom universe, proved to be very successful. Highlighted activities from this year include:
- The PC Lecture Series held three virtual lectures, featuring speakers from around the country
and even Canada - Our Resume and Mock Interview Clinics helped students prepare for their first planning jobs
- We facilitated portfolio building workshops with Urban Design students
- Our internship clearinghouse helped students find hands-on planning positions
- A virtual Pizza Party (with Grub Hub coupons for the students) provided a meet and greet
opportunity for the students to get to know the PC members - Our “Year-end Celebration” allowed students to showcase their research work and projects
- The Virtual Scavenger Hunt introduced students to landmarks in the Seattle Area.
